What plastic sachets are doing to the environment

Ghana’s response to safe, treated drinking water is the ‘pure water’ sachet. It is manufactured all over the country and sold as an individual pouch by Ghanaians or packed in bags of thirty and distributed to local shops.

It’s not hard to imagine that a place with limited recycling options and lack of education behind the seriousness of what plastic can do to our environment would be affected.

But slowly, slowly, there is awareness being created. Pride being had and action being taken to pick up rubbish, recycling these water sachets and even upcycling them into some amazing, unique and functional products.

Congratulations to Trashy Bags. I am supportive of your goal to minimise plastic waste 100% and am proud to be an ambassador in Australia.
